Infection Prevention and Control Course

This course meets the general skills and knowledge outlined in NDIS Practice Standards 2021 and NDIS Skills Descriptor 2022

Learning Objectives

  • Identify that healthcare associated infections pose a risk to patients/ clients/ residents and most are preventable
  • Describe the chain of infection and the different modes of transmission and the risk factors associated
  • Identify the standard and transmission-based precautions required to prevent the spread of infection
  • Recognise the need to implement into clinical practice the management of a patient with an infection utilising current policies and guidelines

3 hour face-to-face workshop with knowledge and skills assessment
